HEIDENHEIM, Germany. Voith will be presenting self-contained hydraulic axis, systems and components for the sheet metal working industry at Blechexpo 2019, from November 5th to 8th, in Stuttgart, Germany.
Energy-efficient and self-contained servo drives
The Voith product family of self-contained servo drives are characterised by high dynamics and power density, overload safety and nearly wear-free operation; they require up to 50 percent less energy. Self-contained servo drives are compact and can be entirely and easily integrated into new or existing systems. No hydraulic unit or oil tank is required for the operation of the self-contained drive. Applications include almost any linear motion requiring high dynamics, precision and reproducibility.
The PDSC (Press Drive Self Contained) is a hydraulic linear drive that is characterised by a high power density and high dynamics. The drive operates with a force of up to 5000 kN and combines speed and high force with extraordinarily high energy efficiency, the automatic gear shifting and the almost wear-free operation. The drive is suitable for force control and position control.
The CLDP (Closed Loop Differential Pump) is a hydraulic linear axis suitable for all applications with high density and high dynamics. It consists of a servomotor, internal gear pump and a directly linked hydraulic cylinder.
The drive operates with a force of up to 500 kN and speeds of up to 1,500mm/s. Power and position control are precise and straightforward. The CLDP is used in applications that require a dynamic response, reproducibility and reliability, such as presses, test rigs, cutting, shaping and special-purpose machines. Besides, the drives offer an advantageous alternative to spindle drives with servomotor.
The CLSP (Closed Loop 4Q Pump) excels due to its compact size and high energy efficiency. consists of a servomotor, a 4Q internal gear pump and a directly coupled hydraulic cylinder.
The CLSP drive also boasts automatic, load-dependent shifting of the hydraulic transmission. This significantly reduces the connected load of the drive. As a result, the motor and inverter sizes are more compact. The CLSP is typically used in bending, cutting, forming and special-purpose machines, as well as presses, material handling or as an alternative to spindle drives with servomotor.
Maximum productivity with energy savings of up to 70 percent
Voith servo pumps combine the advantages of hydraulics and servo electrics and technology designed for Industry 4.0. Hydraulic applications with significant control requirements are subjected to highly fluctuating loads during operation. Despite these conditions, the Voith variable speed drive adapts to the power needed by varying volume flows and motor speeds, to ensure efficient operation. The optimised pro- cess reduces energy consumption by up to 70 per cent and the TCO of the entire hydraulic system by up to 35 per cent, so the equipment has generally paid for itself within one to two years.
