An increase in demand for sheet metal and consumer products across Europe has led to a number of orders for new equipment, machine upgrades and spare parts for Atkin Automation, a subsidiary of Rhodes Interform Limited, a Group Rhodes company.
Atkin Automation currently is undertaking two large machinery orders for imminent delivery including:
- The refurbishment of a hydraulic shear which is to be coupled with a new servo roll feed and existing leveler to form a cut to length line to process Teflon-coated steel for the manufacture of bakeware.
- A complete pneumatic cut-to-length line to process 100mm x 1mm stainless steel which is a repeat of a recent line that Atkin Automation supplied to the German subsidiary of the UK Company.
Geoff Barker, Sales Manager for Atkin Automation, explains: “We are really pleased to be celebrating these contract wins for machinery sales and refurbishment. Although 2020 was a challenging year for us, many companies with sheet metal cutting equipment are now gearing up to meet increased demand from various industries and we are excited to be working on a number of new projects.”
The company’s new contract wins include carrying out an upgrade to the control systems on four Atkin Servo Roll feeds for two customers based in Leeds and the Midlands. Atkin Automation has also secured a contract to manufacture a new BHP-style heavy duty 450mm wide servo feed for a customer in the Midlands.
In addition, Atkin Automation is celebrating an order to create an updated version of an Atkin-designed unique special purpose machine which was supplied to a UK customer around 20 years ago.
